A traditional, more subtle intervention for heritage areas, designed to be in keeping with the surrounding environment. It builds on a sense of local pride and adds personalisation.

Reduction in littered gum

Trialled around the Royal Exchange Bank, the City of London.

How to execute this intervention

This intervention, which is available in a range of colours, works well where a more traditional look and feel is needed to be in keeping with the surrounding buildings and pavements. It proved effective when trialled on bins and lamp posts, drawing attention to the presence of bins and reminding people to bin their gum. As the design is more subtle than others in the toolkit, it is important the signage is displayed in a prominent position to have the greatest effect.
