Heritage: calling on local pride

A traditional-looking, subtly designed intervention for heritage areas.

This signage is designed to be in keeping with the surrounding environment, for use in older areas of towns and cities, or places with a heritage feel. It builds on a sense of local pride and adds personalisation. Your council logo/coat of arms can be used in place of the generic logo. Not avaliable in Welsh bilingual.

About this campaign

This intervention, which is available in a range of colours, works well where a more traditional look and feel is needed to be in keeping with the surrounding buildings and pavements. It proved effective when trialled on bins and lamp posts, drawing attention to the presence of bins and reminding people to bin their gum. As the design is more subtle than others in the toolkit, it is important the signage is displayed in a prominent position to have the greatest effect.

56% reduction in gum littering, when trialled in the City of London
